Oh. My. God.

“Claaaaark?” she wailed.

He grabbed both her hands and yanked her to her feet. But he wasn’t panicked, like she was. He was elated.

“Hoooo-yaaah,” he yelled, swinging her around. “We did it!”

Her bare feet fought for balance on the sand. She cracked her eyes open and focused on his face. He was very handsome, she thought, without his glasses. He should wear contacts, definitely.

Then she remembered she was in the midst a panic attack.

“We did it,” he crowed again. “We really did it!”

“Did what?” She didn’t think he was talking about sex.

He shoved the springy curl out of his eyes and grinned at her. “We teleported. From your bedroom to this tropical beach.”

“Teleported?” It took a second to wrap her mind around that one. “But…that's impossible.” She gulped. “Isn't it?”

He laughed and swung her around again. This time, Blossom had the presence of mind to be embarrassed. For the love of cheeses, they were both stark naked!

“Not hardly,” Clark said cheerily. “Look around. We're here, aren’t we? It's more than possible. We did it!”

He dropped her hands and punched a fist into the air.

She couldn't deny he had a point. This was not her bedroom. They'd definitely gone…somewhere.

“But how?” she asked. “What did you do?”

“It wasn't me,” Clark said. “You did it.”

“Oh, no. No way.” She shook her head wildly. “I had nothing to do with it.”

“You did.” He caught her hand again and tugged her down to sit with him on the sand. “Let me explain.”

By the time he had, Blossom was stunned, bewildered, and seething with rage. And wishing desperately for some clothes. It was beyond awkward sitting here on the beach under a brilliant blue sky, naked, while Clark blithely explained how he'd been acting under orders from his commanding officer to talk her into bed.

Finally, she held up one hand, and he fell blessedly silent.

“Let me get this straight,” she said slowly. “You're some kind of psychic superhero secret agent. I needed a wild orgasm to turn me into a superheroine. And you volunteered to give it to me? So I could help you save the world?”

Finally, he seemed to catch on the fact that she was somewhat less thrilled with this narrative. His eyes slid away.

“Um, yeah. Something like that. You know,” he added brightly, “I think I know why you’re so visually oriented. It's part of your supertalent. You need to picture where you're going in your mind before you teleport there. That’s kind of cool, actually. Don’t you think so?”

His earnest explanation was just so many words jumbled together in her mind; she didn’t even try to interpret it, much less answer. Tears stung her eyes. She blinked hard, willing them not to fall. She'd thought she'd attracted Clark on her own. She liked him, and she thought he cared for her, at least a little bit. Now she'd discovered she was nothing but an assignment to him.

She scrambled to her feet and started running across the sand. To where, she had no idea.
